What began as a personal project has grown into a brand with two sides: a trusted online presence and a quality-focused custom build shop. Based on California’s Central Coast, Merrick’s Garage is where practical experience meets thoughtful design.

Jon – Fabrication Specialist
Jon brings a high level of technical expertise in metal fabrication and precision welding to Merrick’s Garage. With a background rooted in custom motorcycle fabrication and bodywork, Jon is equally adept at engine installations and TIG welding one-off aluminum components. His specialization in TIG and aluminum welding is matched by his meticulous attention to fitment, finish quality, and overall aesthetic cohesion.
Jon’s ability to translate design intent into structurally sound and visually refined work makes him an essential contributor to every project. Over the past three years, he has played a key role in elevating the craftsmanship and detail that define Merrick’s Garage.
Mark – Master Mechanic & Vehicle Systems Expert
Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Mark has been immersed in the world of high-performance and off-road vehicles from a young age. With over 30 years of professional experience, he previously co-owned a successful Jeep customization shop with his father, where he built a wide range of vehicles including squarebody trucks, drag cars, and trail-ready Jeeps.
Mark’s depth of knowledge spans engine building, electrical systems, suspension design, and complete vehicle restoration. Known for his precision and problem-solving ability, he approaches every project with a methodical and systems-driven mindset. His contributions continue to push the performance and reliability of our builds. We're fortunate to have him on the team—and even more fortunate he said yes to joining us.
