Don’t guess. Test your seat before ordering.

There is no universal list of seats that will work with the Merricks Garage CAN Bus Signal Generator. Seat electronics and communication systems vary by vehicle, year, and configuration.

The easiest way to determine if your seat is a good candidate is to test it without the emulator first.

QUICK COMPATIBILITY TEST

1. Connect the seat to the correct 12V power and ground.

Make sure the seat is receiving proper power and has a good ground connection. Use appropriate fusing for the application.

2. Test the seat.

Operate the factory seat controls and verify that the motors and functions initially work.

3. Watch what happens.

If the seat works normally at first but shuts down or stops responding after approximately 10–30 seconds, it may be waiting for CAN Bus communication.

This is the type of application the Merricks Garage CAN Bus Signal Generator is designed for.

DO NOT ORDER IF:

• The seat does not operate at all.

• The motors or controls are faulty.

• There is a power, ground, or wiring problem.

• The seat control module is defective.

• The application requires pCAN communication.

The emulator does not repair defective seat electronics or replace the complete vehicle communication system.
